Droncit Tapewormer for Dogs

Droncit Tapewormer for dogs is an oral treatment designed for the control of various tapeworm infections in dogs, including Dipylidium caninum, Echinococcus granulosus, Spirometra erinacei and Taenia spp. When given as directed, the active ingredient, praziquantel causes tapeworms to lose their ability to be digested by the host and eliminate them from the intestinal tract.

Directions for Use:

Weigh your dog for the right dosage.
Fasting prior to dosing is not necessary.
Administer as a single dose directly into the mouth.
The recommended dosage is 5mg/kg (except Spirometra erinacei). Administer 1 tablet per 10 kg body weight.
The recommended dosage for Spirometra erinacei is 20 mg/kg. Administer 1 tablet per 2.5 kg body weight.
For hydatid tapeworms, treat every 6 weeks.
For other tapeworms, treat every 3 months.
If your dog is still passing tapeworm segments post-treatment, it may be due to Spirometra erinacei, which requires four times the normal dose. Consult a veterinarian before administering the dosage.
