Stance Equitec Chia Seed is a balanced and nutritious formula designed for horses and dogs to support healthy digestion and gut mobility. Chia Seeds are derived from Salvia hispanica, a member of the mint family, are approximately 1 millimeter in length and black or white in colour. They contain mucilage, a water-soluble fibre that holds up to 27 times its own weight in water and when water is added, the seeds become coated in a gel. This gel adds bulk to the hindgut which may help prevent sand colic. The mucilage along with quercetin, a biologically active flavonoid, helps protect and heal the mucosal lining throughout the stomach and gastrointestinal tract.

Chia Seeds are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, natural antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that help promote healthy joints, enhance immune health, improve skin and coat health and maintain a healthy weight. This nutrient dense super food is also an excellent source of amino acids that helps enhance muscle health and support quick recovery. Feeding Guidelines:

Gradually introduce into the diet over a two-week period.
Add to feed, split into two feeds (morning and night) where possible.
Always provide access to clean and fresh drinking water.
Can be fed wet or dry.
Can be ground to increase digestibility.

Feeding Recommendations:

Horses with access to pasture: 60 grams (1 scoop) / day

Stabled/yarded horses or no access to pasture: 120 grams (2 scoops) / day

Dogs

Soak seeds for 30 minutes to 2 hours prior to feeding
